I guess you could say my CrossFit story is pretty typical. I played sports in high school and college. I was athletic in the sense that I played sports, but soon after getting my first “real job” I quickly found myself overweight and heading towards obesity due to my newly sedentary life. I grew up playing sports and being active. After high school, I started running. I ran almost every day and the heaviest weights I lifted were 5-pound dumbbells. I initially started CrossFit after reading an article saying it could improve your running by improving muscle endurance. So I started at 3 times a week and after the first class was so sore I couldn’t come back for a full week.

Coach Brad is a life-long athlete, spending much of his youth playing baseball. In college he picked up racquetball and quickly found success. Brad first joined a CrossFit gym after moving to Tallahassee, FL for graduate school. After a few years of bodybuilding, he found that his workouts were boring and his progress was stagnant. He joined CrossFit Tallahassee and never looked back. Brad has worked as a personal trainer, incorporating many of the CrossFit principles in his training. In January 2018, Coach Brad earned his CrossFit L-1 certification.
